J.C. Hutchins has pioneered both podcasting and promotion of his fiction via the Internet. His 7th Son: Descent (St. Martins Press, Summer 2009), is a techno-thriller involving human cloning. His weekly podcasts draw over 30,000 listeners worldwide. In addition, J.C. is co-writing a suspense novel entitled Personal Effects with Jason Weisman. Personal Effects will feature business cards, handwritten notes, websites and other ephemera to expand the mystery beyond the pages of the novel. J.C. lives in Florida.


Jeremy Mercer is a former criminal investi- gative reporter for a Canadian newspaper who lived in Paris at the famous Shakespeare & Company bookstore. His charming memoir of his adventures, Time Was Soft There, was recently released in paperback by Picador. His new nonfiction book, When the Guillotine Fell (St. Martin’s Press), is about the last person executed in France by guillotine and the sensational case that led to the banning of the death penalty in France. It was released in July, 2008. He is currently living in Marseilles, France.

His first non-fiction book, Tell Me Where It Hurts, was released by Broadway Books on March 11, 2008 and appeared on the New York Times bestseller list as #13 for hardback nonfiction on April 6, 2008. This collection of stories portrays the wide variety of cases he sees in a single day with wit and empathy for the animals he treats and their owners. Nick has accepted a new two-book contract from Broadway Books.

Alice Wisler's first book with Bethany House Publishers is Rain Song (October 2008). She has completed her second novel with the working title Evening Peace and it is due for release in Fall, 2009. Her books deal with issues of spirituality and personal growth in the face of challenging circumstances.
