J.C. Hutchins has pioneered both podcasting and promotion of his fiction via the Internet. His 7th Son: Descent (St. Martins Press), is a techno-thriller involving human cloning. It has been optioned for film by Warner Brothers, and is a finalist in the Best Paperback category for the 2010 Thriller Awards. In addition, J.C. co-wrote a suspense novel entitled Personal Effects with Jason Weisman. Personal Effects features business cards, handwritten notes, websites and other ephemera to expand the mystery beyond the pages of the novel. It received a starred review in Publisher's Weekly and was released in 2009. J.C. lives in Florida.

Jeremy Mercer is a former investi- gative reporter for a Canadian newspaper who lived in Paris at the famous Shakespeare & Company bookstore about which he wrote a charming memoir, Time Was Soft There. His latest nonfiction book, When the Guillotine Fell (St. Martin’s Press), is about the last person executed in France by guillotine and the sensational case that led to the banning of the death penalty in France.
